Owl Baby Shower

Been meaning to write this post for a while.  I was a little wiped out after planning this Owl themed baby shower for one of my BFFs.  I've known Yung since we were kids, she's practically a sister to me.  When I found out that she was pregnant, I couldn't be more excited!  Yung and I grew up together and now our kids would be doing the same!  Yung's mother in-law was supposed to host her baby shower for her, but due to some health issues, regrettably unable to do so.  My sister and I were asked to step in at the last minute to plan the shower.  Due to the busy holiday and work schedules, Trang and I only had about a month to plan and organize this party.  We were on a tight timeline, but I wasn't going to let that stop us from throwing a memorable and beautiful shower.

We started off with brainstorming a theme.  Knowing Valentine's Day would be coming up soon, we knew that we would have red and pinks readily available to us.  From there, we decided that owls would make it even cuter!  So a red and pink Owl themed baby shower was born!

Here is the dessert table.  The background was made of pink and red streamers overlapping each other.  The tablecloth was a white blanket from Ikea.

My Aunt Mai made her special carrot cake cupcakes for the shower.  They were delicious!  Trang designed the cupcake topper.

And my go-to treat, Oreo dipped chocolates with an owl twist.

This is the food table.  Decoration was fairly simple here.  Trang found some branches in her backyard and we hung some tissue poms and felt owls on them.  I found an adorable pink owl fabric and used that as a table runner (sorry no close up picture of the runner).  Trang designed the food tent labels as well.

I found some children owl books on Amazon and used one of them as a guest book.

Found these vintage blocks at the flea market and used them as photo holders of mom and dad when they were younger.

Found some left over Christmas decor and turned them into owls!

Here is a family pic of Yung and Brad with the Grandparents and Uncle.  I made the "Welcome Baby" bunting out of scrapbook paper.  Wish I had a better close up picture, but hopefully my sister was able to get a few for me.

Yung and Brad, I know you will be great parents!  I hope you had a wonderful time!

P.S.  More to come on the projects I worked on for this party!

I like the curtain of streamers in your first photo. Such a great idea! I am sure they appreciated all of the hard work you put into this shower. It looks fabulous : )

Elated to know about this baby shower party. Few weeks ago, I arranged my cousin’s baby shower party at one of exotic Venues in San Francisco. Hired a reputed party photographer and he took amazing pictures of this event.
