Project Life 2011

It's here!  It's here!  I ordered my Project Life kit about a week ago and it finally came!  Happy Dance....

I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to begin featuring a blog series in 2011 about my Project Life book. So let me tell you a little about it first and by the end, you'll probably want to go out and get one for yourself too!

Becky Higgins came up with a simple concept.  Give wanna-be scrapbookers an easy way to capture the moments in there lives without the "scrapbooking".  Yes, I said that correct!  Scrapbooking WITHOUT the scrapbooking!  In other words - no glue, no techniques, no figuring out layout design.

For someone like me who is a busy working mom and likes the IDEA of scrapbooking, but never can find the time to actually sit down and CREATE a page from scratch, Project Life is the perfect fit. What I really like about Project Life is that it combines my love of pictures and journaling in one.

There are so many great possibilities with Project Life.   For example, you can use Project Life to:
  • Capture a picture a day for an entire year.  More on this in another post!
  • Capture a picture a week for an entire year (much easier, trust me!)
  • Chronologically order your photos and highlight a handful of pictures from each month per layout.
  • Feature a theme or event (holidays, trips, birthdays, back-to-school, etc.) per layout or per album.
  • Or simply organize years and years of old pictures.

Here's a little synopsis from Becky herself.  Check out the video.  It's a little long, but it gives you a great overview of what Project Life is and everything that is included in the kit.

I ordered the Amber edition:

And here are some of the goodies inside:

I plan on storing my accessories in a little leather box I had laying around.  It'll store all my journaling cards, stickers, pens, etc... for easy access.

Here's a shot of my "unfinished" cover page.  It's still under construction for now since my printer is out of ink and I really wanted to add a family photo to the cover page.  I had some scrapbooking supplies I had laying around and never used!  Now I have no excuse!

I plan on using Project Life to feature not only every day life, but highlight our family events, happenings and activities for 2011.  I also want to add art projects, special cards, any type of memorabilia to the album as well.

So?  Are you ready to go out and get one of your own yet?  I hope so!  And when you've begun your Project Life journey, be sure to email me and let me know how you plan on utilizing Project Life to capture YOUR LIFE!
